Beginners are always Welcome.

Beginners are welcome to join our club at anytime of the year and no previous martial art experience is necessary. New members are very important to us and some of the newcomers will become our future black belts, everyone is carefully introduced to the art of Jujutsu and we take safety very seriously at the Kotokukan Budo Rengokai.


Joining us is straight forward.

Becoming a member of the Kotokukan Budo Rengokai is relatively inexpensive and straight forward all you need do is fill in a simple form, pay an annual membership fee which includes member to member insurance cover the total cost of membership is £20.00 per year.

There are no contracts to sign or monthly direct debits to pay and you are free to leave at any time.

  • Kokamishin Ryu Jujutsu
  • Annual membership fee including insurance is £20.00 per year
  • Lessons are charged at £7.00 per lesson which lasts 1.5 hours.
  • Grading fees are dependent on the grade you are testing for but as an example a Schichikyu or yellow belt (this would be your first grading) costs £10.00 including certificate.
  • Hakkoryu Jujutsu
  • Initial Registration at the Japanese Hombu 11000 yen includes 12 months membership
  • Annual Fee 8000 Yen
  • Lessons are charged at £7.00 per two hour lesson.
  • Grading fees vary according to level .

What you should wear.

We suggest that beginners wear loose clothing such as jogging bottoms and a tee shirt or sweat shirt or if you prefer a track suit or similiar,we do not wear any kind of footwear therefore in order to take part in lessons participants need to make sure their feet are washed and clean.

When you have taken a few lessons and decide that jujutsu is something you wish to continue learning you can purchase a club Gi (uniform) from us at a reasonable price.

Sensei of the highest caliber are always wecome to join us in helping to preserve the traditional japanese martial arts that we teach, if you are an experienced instructor or coach looking to become part of our prestigious world renowned organisation please contact Hanshi Allum for further details. Small clubs are most welcome to become part of our association we have a fully structured syllabus that the club instructors can learn and then teach to their students.

Seminars and club visits

Hanshi Allum regularly travels around the world teaching Jujutsu and Aiki Jujutsu at seminars Clubs and Dojo's if you would like to arrange  a visit you can do so by emailing Allum Hanshi using  the details available on our website pages.  You will be responsible for all travel costs including flights food and accomodation of Hanshi Allum (where an overnight stay or flights are necessary).
